Fragments
Fragments, uses exposed body parts framed by fragments of color to discuss the evolution of the character, restoration and healing to the physical and mental body. The work displays a disjointed and often gaping existence between self and sexuality. The masked images often allude to the fear associated with discovering true self amidst the vibrant experience of self-awaking mixed with disassociation of self and hopelessness. The open color blocking of this unfolding series, create tension between beauty and pain while allowing room for guarded escape from the contrasting emotions. The micro blocks are used to embody the internal struggle of self-image as sexuality and identity are explored through the naked figure as one looks for restoration of its disjointed fragments.
